Former interior minister of Tajikistan commits suicide

Baku â€“APA. Former interior minister of Tajikistan Mahammadnazar Salihov committed suicide shooting himself in his apartment in Dushanbe, APA reports quoting ASLA-Plus. Reasons of the suicide are not known. He reportedly shot himself several hours later after that the General Prosecutorâ€™s Office of Tajikistan issued arrest warrant about him. Salihov, who was an interior minister for two years, was dismissed from his office in January and reason of his dismissal was not publicized. Fergana.ru said that he resigned as a result of intrigues inside the Tajikistan government and President Imomali Rahmon ordered his house arrest.
Mahammadnazar Salihovâ€™s brother Tagoynazar Salihov went on trial in Dushanbe on June 11. He is accused in murder and illegal storage of arms. According to indictment, Tagoynazar Salihov, in drink, shot dead his relative with Kalashnikov gun.
