Azerbaijan buries General Rail Rzayev murdered this morning - PHOTOSESSION
Rail Rzayev was taken to Central Clinic Hospital in the morning, but the doctors could not save his life. The commander-in-chief had been shot in head. It is not known who and why committed the murder.
Rail Gurban Rzayev was born in Salyan region in 1945. He graduated from Vladikavkaz Anti-Aircraft Missiles Command School in 1966. He served in anti-aircraft missiles unions of former Soviet army in Azerbaijan. He was a Chief of Baku Repair Base of Aircraft Defense Forces in 1989-1992. He was appointed commander-in-chief of Air Defense Troops in 1992. He participated in Nagorno Karabakh war. He was a Commander-in-chief of the Air Forces in 1994. He was promoted to lieutenant general by the order of Ilham Aliyev in 2004. He was awarded several orders and medals of Azerbaijan. He has three children.
