Baku-APA. Turkey strongly condemned a suicide bomb attack in eastern Afghan province of Nangarhar which killed three Turkish engineers and injured another one early Monday, according to a Turkish official statement, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
"We strongly condemn this flagrant attack and expect Afghan officials to arrest the assailants immediately," said the statement issued by Turkish Foreign Ministry.
The blast took place at around 7:15 a.m. local time in Behsoud district outside provincial capital Jalalabad city. The victims were serving in a local construction firm in charge of building police facilities in the province, 120 km east of national capital Kabul.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Taliban insurgent group was likely behind such attacks.
The Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since the militant group launched an annual rebel offensive against Afghan government forces.
The Taliban urged civilians to stay away from official gatherings, military convoys and centers regarded as the legitimate targets by militants, warning people not to support the government and foreign troops.
