Baku-APA. The Syrian army on Friday morning fully recaptured a strategic town in the countryside of the northern province of Aleppo, securing thus the southeastern entrance of Aleppo, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

In a statement issued Friday, the Syrian Army General Command said the victory in Sfaira town emanates from its strategic location southeast of Aleppo, adding that the road is now secure for delivering aide and foodstuffs to the people of Aleppo.

Regaining Sfaira came after a series of successful operations by the army, in which hefty losses have been inflicted upon the rebels, the statement said.

It said the recapture of Sfaira would be the "starting point for eliminating the armed terrorist groups" in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo.

While stressing its resolve and determination to continue its " war against terrorism, the general command of the army called on all outlaws to take advantage of the recent presidential pardon.
