Baku-APA. A small-scale explosion hit a western district of the Syrian capital of Damascus on Monday evening, a Xinhua reporter rushed to scene said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The local Ajel news website said later that the explosion was caused by a booby-trapped bicycle, injuring one person.
According to the Xinhua reporter, the explosion occurred at the Iskan street in the Mazzeh district, nearby Sheikh Saad marketplace, which was full of shoppers and passersby at the night ahead of the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday.
The target of the blast wasn't immediately known and official media has yet no comment on the incident.
