All four attackers at the Iranian parliament building have now been killed by security forces, and the attack is over, an APA correspondent reported from Tehran.

The building is currently being inspected.

Iranian parliamentary speaker Ali Larijani visited the site following the operation.

Seven people were reported dead after the armed attack on Iran’s parliament, APA reported citing Tasnim agency reported.

Another four people have been taken hostage.

An APA correspondent reported from Tehran that one of the gunmen has managed to escape from the parliament building. Special forces are trying to eliminate him.

Four unknown gunmen who attacked the Iranian parliament on Wednesday have been detained, the local media reported with reference to some sources.

According to other sources, one of the attackers was a suicide-bomber and he was surrounded by security forces. The assailants carried a Kalashnikov rifle and pistols.

In a separate incident on the same day, four gunmen attacked Imam khomeini’s mausoleum in Tehran, injuring several people.

One of the armed men detonated himself in front of a bank outside the mausoleum, IRNA reported.

The government has tightened the security of Iran’s Presidential Administration and other important facilities.

Akbar Ranjbarzadeh, a presidium member of the parliament, said that there are no wounded among the parliament members.

One of the four unknown gunmen who attacked the Iranian parliament on Wednesday has been detained, said Naghavi Hosseini, spokesman for the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, an APA correspondent reported from Tehran.

The other three gunmen are said to be still at large and the shooting it still continuing.

Two semi-official Iranian news agencies, Fars and Mehr, reported on Wednesday a shooting at the Iranian parliament.

"A person entered Iranian parliament today and started shooting at the guards. He shot one of the guards in the leg and ran away," the agencies reported on their telegram feeds.
