Baku-APA. The Palestinian Liberation Organization's (PLO) Executive Committee accused Israel on Monday of sabotaging the peace process after approving a bill banning negotiations on the status of Jerusalem without parliamentary majority, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The law "is a continuation of the racist Israeli policy that aims at blocking the peace process and the ongoing U.S.-sponsored negotiations," said Yasser Abed Rabbo of the committee.
The bill, which was approved Sunday, requires the support of 80 Knesset (Parliament) members, 66 percent, to negotiate the future of Jerusalem with the Palestinians.
Rabbo said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu " extends one of his hands for negotiations while stabbing the peace process to death by his second hand," in reference to Netanyahu's Likud party, which pushed for the bill.
The Palestinians want East Jerusalem, which Israel has occupied and annexed in 1967, to be their future capital.
