Baku-APA. Infectious diseases killed 11,989 people in the first nine months of this year in China, Chinese health authority revealed on Thursday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The death is one percent less than that in the same period of last year, though the number of cases reported is up 15 percent, figures from the National Health and Family Planning Commission show.
The commission said it's not optimistic for prevention of infectious diseases in the Autumn and Winter seasons, and warned local health authorities to reinforce efforts against dengue fever, measles and Ebola.
A total of 27,219 dengue fever cases have been reported in China as of Wednesday, killing six people.
