Four, including newborn baby, killed in tragic accident in northern Turkey

Baku-APA. Four people, including a newborn infant, were killed in a tragic accident in the northern province of Giresun on Thursday, APA reports quoting Todays Zaman.

OÄŸuzhan Çelik, 28, was returning with his family from the hospital after his wife gave birth the day before, in the village of KÄ±lÄ±çlÄ± in the Kezap district, when his car crashed into a truck.

Elif Çelik, 27, and her mother Havva Çelik, 48, were killed at the scene of the accident. Their bodies were pulled out of the car after intense efforts by firefighters. Çelik's one-day-old infant and daughter Asiye Çelik, 4, died on the road while an ambulance was taking them to hospital.

OÄŸuzhan Çelik was taken to the private Giresun Ada Hospital for medical treatment. The four bodies were taken to the morgue of the Giresun State Hospital. The tragic accident has led to deep sorrow among the local community in Çelik's town.

The cause of the accident is not yet clear. The driver of the truck was detained by police.
