Baku-APA. The European External Action Service (EEAS) on Friday condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Yemen, reiterating firm commitment to support Yemen in its fight against terrorism, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
"We unreservedly condemn the attacks conducted on Oct. 9 against peaceful demonstrators in Sanaa, as well as against military personnel in the South of Yemen," said the EEAS spokesman in a statement.
The statement said security is an essential prerequisite for the success of the transition, reaffirming the EU's commitment to continue supporting Yemen in its transition, and call on all parties to work towards the implementation of the recently signed Peace and National Partnership Agreement and of the National Dialogue Conference outcomes.
About 32 people were killed in a suicide bombing in Yemeni capital Sanaa on Thursday morning, police and witnesses said.
Also on Thursday, a suicide car bombing struck a Yemeni army checkpoint in the turbulent southeastern province of Hadramout, killing at least 12 soldiers, a provincial police source said.
