Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not discuss the availability of Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems in the country at a meeting with American leader Donald Trump at the NATO summit in The Hague, APA reports.
At a press conference following the event on June 25, the Turkish leader said that this "issue is closed."
"We did not discuss the S-400 at the meeting with Trump. This issue is not on our agenda, it is closed. We discussed [buying] F-35 fighter jets. We paid $1.3 billion for them. We have seen that Trump has good intentions regarding our purchase of the F-35," Erdogan said at an event broadcast by the TRT Haber television channel.
The President added that the United States continues to responsibly fulfill its obligations to maintain and repair F-16 fighter jets.
