According to preliminary estimates, 22 buildings were destroyed during the earthquake in the Malatya region of Türkiye today, Mahmut Ozer, Minister of National Education of Türkiye said, APA reports.

He noted that 5 people were pulled under the rubble.

AFAD head Yunus Sezer emphasized that 1 person died and 69 people were injured.


2 people were injured as a result of the quake in Malatya, said Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay, APA reports.

He urged citizens to stay away from damaged buildings.


A magnitude 5.6 quake has hit Malatya, says AFAD, APA reports.

The quake was recorded in the Yeshilyurt region of Malatya at 12:04 local time.

As a result, several buildings have been destroyed. Rescue teams have been involved to the area.
