Baku-APA. A roadside bomb ripped through a communal bus in a suburb of the Syrian capital of Damascus on Monday, injuring a number of passengers, Syria's pro-government media said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The blast took place in Mashrou Dummar area near a church, the report said, adding that the bus was coming from the adjacent district of Masaken al-Haras or "Guards Housing" which is dominated by army and security members.

Earlier in the day, armed men detonated a roadside bomb in front of the central bank in the northern province of Hasaka, killing a little girl and wounding her mother.

Two other bombs were detonated in the northwestern province of Idlib but caused only property losses.

The recent blast is part of the ongoing violence that has engulfed most of the Syrian cities during the 20-months-old crisis.
