Baku-APA. One person was killed Tuesday when a mortar shell fired by armed men from a mountainous area in the capital Damascus hit the vicinity of the medics syndicate close to the office of Syria's Vice President Farouq al-Shara'a, local media said, APA reports.
The mortar is believed to be fired from the mountainous area of Ruken Addien, reports said, adding that at least one person was killed and many others injured when the mortar landed at the Abu- Rummana district in Damascus.
Further details are still emerging, as mortar attacks have become increasingly common lately after the Syrian security forces ringed the capital with blast walls and checkpoints, hindering thus the armed rebels from carrying on with explosions by explosive devices and roadside bombs.
