Baku-APA. Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi met Wednesday with the United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki- moon, who has just come from Israel and Ramallah, to discuss the latest developments in the Gaza strip, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Ban Ki-moon came back to Cairo after he left Tuesday to visit Israel and Ramallah, where he talked with the leaders about ways to stop violence in the Gaza strip and the ceasefire agreement.
In a bid to end the escalating deadly conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians, Ban arrived in Egypt on Monday for a two-day visit to discuss the latest developments in the region with Egyptian senior officials.
The death toll of Palestinians in Israeli air raids has reached 137 as of Tuesday night, with over 800 wounded, while five Israelis were killed due to rockets fired by Gaza militants.
