Baku – APA. It has been confirmed that 177 people were killed as a result of the terrorist attack in Reyhanli settlement of Hatay two days ago. APA reports that journalist Ferdi Ozmen announced the number of victims basing on hospitals’ data and posted on social networks. According to him, after the explosion, 26 bodies were taken to Defne hospital, 44 to Antakya state hospital, 18 to Kirikhan hospital, 6 to Akademi Hospital, 3 to Akdeniz Hospital, 30 to Research hospital and 50 to Reyhanli state hospital. One more independent source confirmed that the death toll is 177. Journalist Ferdi Ozmen, who posted the number of victims on social networks, has already been reportedly arrested.
Soon after the explosions, ruling party AKP appealed to the Turkish Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTUK) and demanded to ban the broadcasting of news about the terrorist act. RTUK made relevant decision on it immediately. The officials report that 46 people died in the terrorist attacks. However, foreign press agencies, including The Sun, The Telegraph, BBC report that the death toll is 120-160.
