Baku-APA. At least one policeman was killed and three others injured when a police checkpost was attacked by a handgrenade in Pakistan's northwest city of Peshawar Thursday night, reported local media Samaa, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The incident took place at about 6:45 p.m. local time when some unknown people coming on a motorbike hurled a handgrenade at a police checkpost near a Shia mosque in the Pahari Pura area of Peshawar, capital city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in northwest Pakistan.
All the four injured policemen have been shifted to the city's Lady Reading Hospital, where one wounded cop later died.
Earlier this morning, unknown gunmen attacked a checkpost of Frontier Corps, a paramilitary force in Pakistan, in the Budhber area of Peshawar, killing two FC personnel and injuring another.
Latest news said that a security force's convoy was attacked in the country's northwest tribal area of South Waziristan, in which at least one person was killed.
