Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not specify the date of a possible referendum on Armenia’s accession to the European Union during his telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Aysor.am reports.
“No, the exact date was not specified,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
“However, the need to hold such a referendum as soon as possible was emphasized. This is very important,” Peskov said.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation with President Vladimir Putin yesterday.
During the call, Pashinyan said that a referendum would be practically possible only after Armenia submits an official application for EU membership, making the issue substantive.
