The appointment of former Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov as Ukraine's defense minister is no longer under consideration by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's team, RBK-Ukraine reports.
According to the report, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy no longer considers this option relevant. Yevhen Khmara, who is currently serving as defense minister and is the former acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine as well as the former commander of the Alpha special forces unit, will continue to lead the ministry.
According to the sources, the presidential administration also believes that the protests against the recent government reshuffle will subside in the near future.
"It will not be possible to protest for a long time based only on 'vibes'," RBK-Ukraine's sources said.
