Kazakhstan and Germany will cooperate on oil and gas supplies to Europe

Kazakhstan and Germany plan to cooperate on energy security, including oil and gas supplies to Europe, it is noted in a declaration adopted by the presidents of Kazakhstan and Germany, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Frank-Walter Steinmeier, following the Kazakh leader's official visit to Berlin, APA reports.

"The presidents welcome close cooperation to strengthen energy security and diversify energy supply sources and routes, including oil and gas to Europe. The parties intend to develop cooperation within the framework of the Kazakh-German Energy Dialogue and through the H2-Diplo office in Astana to strengthen the reliability of energy supply, develop energy corridors, decarbonize industry, and expand the use of renewable energy sources and green hydrogen," reads the document, published by the press service of the President of Kazakhstan.

The declaration notes that Astana and Berlin also welcomed cooperation between Central Asian countries and Germany in the C5+1 format and look forward to a new summit in the near future. "The Presidents reaffirm their support for the strategic regional partnership between Central Asia and Germany, which was launched at the first Central Asia-Germany summit on September 29, 2023, in Berlin and further developed at the second summit on September 17, 2024, in Astana. They commend the results of the meeting of foreign ministers in this format on February 11, 2026, in Berlin and welcome plans to hold a third summit in the near future," the document states.
