Israel sends humanitarian aid team to Colombia after earthquake

Israel has sent a humanitarian team to earthquake-ravaged Colombia to help with disaster relief efforts, APA reports.

According to the Israeli army's press service, the "joint humanitarian delegation" includes representatives from the Israeli military, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Interior. They are scheduled to depart for Colombia soon on an Israeli Air Force plane from Nevatim Air Base and will immediately begin search and rescue operations upon arrival.

The delegation, comprised of 80 people, was led by retired Brigadier General Yossi Pinto, commander of the National Search and Rescue Team of the Army Home Front Service. Their mission was to "provide immediate assistance in search and rescue operations to save lives, using rapid mapping capabilities in affected areas," the army noted.
