Cooperation Program signed between Prosecutor General's Offices of Azerbaijan and Russia

Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, who is on an official visit to the Russian Federation, has attended the 36th meeting of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS member states, the Prosecutor General's Office told APA.

As part of the visit, on September 30, a delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, which also included Military Prosecutor of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Deputy Prosecutor General Bahruz Ahmadov, attended the 36th meeting of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS member states in Kazan.

During the meeting, the sides discussed strengthening cooperation among prosecution authorities across the CIS, combating crime, ensuring legality and law and order, as well as current issues of international legal cooperation.

As part of the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev and Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Alexander Gutsan.

Kamran Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to relations between Azerbaijan and Russia based on friendship, mutual understanding and trust. It was emphasized that contacts between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin play an important role in the development of interstate relations.

At the conclusion, a Cooperation Program for 2027–2028 was signed between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

As part of the visit, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev also met with Prosecutor General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Livong Laoly. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on prospects for developing legal cooperation on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the prosecution authorities of the two countries last year, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
