Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev has met with Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Vaškelevičius, APA reports.
The Lithuanian Embassy in Azerbaijan shared information about the meeting on its Facebook page.
The meeting discussed security issues in the region, prospects for strengthening bilateral relations between Lithuania and Azerbaijan, as well as the development of EU-Azerbaijan relations during Lithuania's presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The ambassador noted that amid the changing geopolitical and security environment, it is important for countries that know the value of freedom to further intensify their exchange of views, understand each other, and support one another.
