Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has commented on the targeting of an Iranian vessel by Ukraine, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
Baghaei said that Ukrainian officials had stated, both in direct contacts with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and in messages they had sent, that the incident had not been intentional.
At the same time, he noted that statements by the Ukrainian president indicate that the attack was carried out deliberately.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed that all necessary measures will be taken to hold Ukraine accountable and prevent similar incidents from recurring in the future.
