Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium exceeded the 2015 deal's limit by 18 times, AFP and AP said Tuesday, citing a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), APA reports.

According to the confidential report, Iran's total stockpile was estimated at 3,760.8 kilograms as of February 12.

However, the limit in the 2015 deal was set at 202.8 kilograms.

In addition, the UN watchdog reportedly confirmed that uranium particles were enriched to 83.7% purity, which means the country is very close to the required level for the fabrication of weapons.

"Iran informed the agency that 'unintended fluctuations' in enrichment levels may have occurred during the transition period," read the IAEA report quoted by AP. "Discussions between the agency and Iran to clarify the matter are ongoing."
