The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has resumed inspection activities in Iran, but access has been granted only to facilities that were not hit by U.S. strikes, said the organisation’s Director General, Rafael Grossi, in an interview with RIA Novosti, APA reports.
He noted that after the strikes carried out on Iran’s nuclear facilities in June, progress in resuming inspections is currently the most important issue facing the IAEA in Iran.
According to Grossi, the agency has been allowed access only to facilities that were not affected by U.S. strikes.
“This is good in the sense that these facilities are included in the agreed list of sites that must be inspected. This is important for us. However, of course, the other three facilities (Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordo — ed.) are even more significant, because there are still large amounts of nuclear materials and equipment there, and we must go back there,” the IAEA Director General emphasised.
