The agreement between Israel and Hamas on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is in danger of collapsing, Palestinian movement politburo member Basem Naim told Agence France-Presse, APA reports.

According to him, the deal is "under threat" and "may fall through."

As Agence France-Presse notes, the parties have not yet begun negotiations on the second stage of implementing the agreement on introducing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which were supposed to begin on February 3.

Naim accused Israel of delaying the implementation of the obligations stipulated by the document in the first stage of the truce and stated that Hamas does not seek to continue the conflict. At the same time, the Hamas politburo member emphasized that the movement's leadership is "still ready" to hold indirect talks with Israel in Qatar to discuss the details of the second stage of the deal.
