Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated Turkey's determination to restore peace in Syria, while his Russian counterpart referred to the establishment of a safe zone on Turkey's southern borders as a "positive step" for Syria's territorial integrity, APA reports citing Daily Sabah.
Speaking at a joint news conference in Moscow, Erdogan criticized the Assad regime for attacks on civilians.
"Assad regime attacks in Syria's Idlib disrupt calm in the region established by Turkey and Russia. It is unacceptable for the regime to rain death on innocent civilians under the pretext of fighting terrorism," Erdogan said.
The president noted that Assad regime's provocations have come to such a point that it's risking the lives of Turkish soldiers in the region.
