Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has criticized CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's call for citizens to take to the streets and participate in rallies, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan assessed this call as seriously irresponsible.
"We are witnessing that they are trying to create chaos on our streets using the corruption operation in Istanbul as an excuse. We will not turn a blind eye to those who threaten the security of our nation and those who are trying to threaten Türkiye with terrorism just so that their wealth and profit plans are not disrupted," he said.
The Turkish President stressed that the brotherhood of the nation will not be allowed to be violated: "Remember, the street that the CHP chairman invited is a dead end. It is very irresponsible to show the streets, not the courtrooms, to defend theft, robbery, and lawlessness. Going after the marginalized, attacking our police, threatening our judges and prosecutors, and resorting to illegal means will not get you anywhere in this country. Türkiye is not a country found on the streets, and it will not surrender to street terror."
