A rescue helicopter carrying relief goods to flood-affected areas crashed in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, killing all five people on board, including two pilots, officials said, APA reports, citing Xinhua.
The MI-17 helicopter, operated by the provincial government, crashed in Bajaur District due to adverse weather conditions, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said.
Rescue teams have been dispatched to the crash site to recover the bodies.
Over 170 people have died and dozens have been injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains wreaked havoc in Pakistan's northern and northwestern regions, local officials said.
