Municipal elections and the parliamentary elections to 4 mandates will also be held in the country on the same day, APA reports quoting IRNA.

The term of tenure of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ends on 2013. Ahmadinejad will not take part in the next election, as he elected to the post for two terms consecutively.

Iranian President is expected to use the formula of Putin and Medvedev and that during 2013 presidential elections he will put forward the candidacy of his relative, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei, head of the Presidential Administration. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad himself is going to be a president in 2017. Such a statement was first made, after interview of the Iranian president on last year of his presidency. Yet, nobody knows if his wish will come true.
