Baku-APA. One person was killed and two others seriously injured in a thunder strike that occurred Wednesday evening at Kiganda, Burundi’s central province of Muramvya, Burundi state-run radio reported on Thursday, APA reports quoting Xinuha.
The radio said that the incident occurred at about 17:30 (1530 GMT) when three men were roofing a house during little rain.
One of the three masons died immediately whereas the two others were seriously injured.
The two injured masons were taken to Gatabo Hospital where they are receiving medical treatment.
The period ranging from June to September in Burundi is generally a dry season, but due to climate change, rain can occur at any time during the traditional dry season.
