Mongolian parliament nominates new PM

Baku-APA. The Mongolian parliament on Wednesday nominated Norov Altankhuyag, chairman of the Democratic Party, as the next prime minister of the country’s coalition government, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Representatives of the Democratic Party, the Justice Coalition and the Civil Will-Green Party submitted the nomination to President Tsakhia Elbegdorj.

The three parties, making up majority in the 76-member parliament, will form a coalition government and nominate the prime minister.

By law, the president has to approve or disapprove the nomination within five working days.

Altankhuyag served as the first deputy prime minister in the coalition government formed by the Mongolian People’s Party and the Democratic Party from 2008 to 2012.
