Syriaâ€™s national security chief dies in hospital - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Baku â€“ APA. Syriaâ€™s national security chief general Hisham Ikhtiyar died in the hospital, said Syrian state TV, APA reports.

71-years old Ikhtiyar was wounded during the terror attack committed against high-ranking officers of the Syrian government in Damascus on July 18 and died today. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Baas partyâ€™s leadership issued an obituary notice on death of the general.

Syrian TV says the country’s national security chief has died of wounds suffered in a rebel blast.

Syriaâ€™s defense minister General Daoud Rajha, deputy defense minister Asef Shawkat (brother-in-law of President Bashar al-Assad) and former defense minister Mohammed Turkman were killed and Syrian Interior Minister Ibrahim Al Saar and Head of Syrian National Security Council Hisham Bekhtyar were wounded during the terrorist act on the National Security headquarters in Damascus. Liberation Army took responsibility for the terrorist act and reported that the incident was not suicide attack. According to previous news, one of the bodyguards of Bashar al-Assad committed the terrorist act.
