“The Guardian”: Syrian president wounded in Damascus blast

Baku – APA. The UK “The Guardian” newspaper said that president Bashar al-Assad was wounded during the blast on the National Security headquarters in Damascus. APA reports that the wounded president was brought to Latakia and his spouse Asma al-Assad was sent to Russia.

Syria’s defense minister General Daoud Rajha, deputy defense minister Asef Shawkat (brother-in-law of President Bashar al-Assad) and former defense minister Mohammed Turkman were killed and Syrian Interior Minister Ibrahim Al Saar and Head of Syrian National Security Council Hisham Bekhtyar were wounded during the terrorist act on the National Security headquarters in Damascus. Liberation Army took responsibility for the terrorist act and reported that the incident was not suicide attack. According to previous news, one of the bodyguards of Bashar al-Assad committed the terrorist act.
