Hezbollah rejects to disarm - Nasrallah

Baku-APA. Lebanonâ€™s Shiite group Hezbollah will remain faithful to the idea of â€‹â€‹resistance to Israel and does not intend to disarm, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.

â€œThese weapons, along with the Lebanese people and army, are the only guarantee of Lebanon’s protection," Hassan Nasrallah said in his speech marking a Shiite holy day.

Nasrallah said he was happy that Hezbollah’s military prowess was a cause for concern that U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon expressed during his three day visit to Lebanon.

â€œYour concern, Secretary-General, reassures us and pleases us. What matters to us is that you are worried, and that America ... and Israel are worried with you,â€ he said.

Speaking in Beirut on Friday U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who Hezbollah accused of being biased in favor of the U.S. and Israel, said that he was "deeply concerned about the military capacity of Hezbollah and the lack of progress in disarmament.â€

In his speech Hezbollah leader said that his group was ready to participate in the national dialogue to develop a strategy for Lebanonâ€™s defense and not for its disarmament. Moreover he accused his opponents from March 14 Alliance, not naming anyone in particular, that they consider the dialogue as a tool for Hezbollah disarmament.

"They will never achieve their goals," Nasrallah said.

Hezbollah leader also called on "internal and external" Syrian opposition not to reject President Bashar al-Assadâ€™s call for a political dialogue, and "positively respond to it."

He added that Lebanon could not be shut from the events in neighboring Syria. Moreover that is the country which is affected by these events the most.

That is why "we call on to stop violence in Syria in order to reigned stability," added Nasrallah.
