Explosion near Japanese Fukushima-1 nuclear plant

Tokyo – APA. An explosion has occurred near the quake-hit nuclear plant in Fukushima prefecture of Japan. According to APA, the explosion created white smoke cloud over the plant. It destroyed outside wall of one of the reactor’s blocs injuring several people, preliminary reports said. According to the authorities, experts could pump out certain volume of the gas collected in the protecting cover of the reactor lowering the gas pressure and radiation leak as well. They pumped sea water to the blocs to cool the reactor. But these measures didn’t give necessary result and the explosion became unpreventable rapidly rising radiation level outside the nuclear plant.
