Tokyo -APA. Quake and tsunami death toll rises hour by hour in Japan. According to APA, Japan’s Police Head Office made next statement about the casualties few hours ago. The authorities said more than 900 people were killed by 8.9-magnitude quake, 1600 became missing. Most casualties were observed in tsunami-hit areas. Local news agencies said death tall was expected to rise.
Quake and tsunami damaged mostly on the prefectures Miyagi, Iwate and Fukushima. Catastrophic fire blazed up in six prefectures, including oil refinery and gas storage near the center of Tiba prefecture. Sendai city also faced with huge damages. Sendai international airport remained under the water. The level of water exceeded three-storey building altitude in Sanriku city. The natural disaster completely devastated a sea port in this city.
