Baku – APA. A bus carrying wedding guests hit a high-tension electricity line in central India on Friday, killing 28 people on board, mostly women and children, who were on their way back from the ceremony, APA reports quoting “Reuters”.
The accident happened near Surajpur village in the Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh state, around 450 km (280 miles) from the state capital Bhopal.
The local police superintendent K.K. Sharma told Reuters that a steel wardrobe had been tied on top of the bus which then made contact with the high-voltage electricity line, leaving the vehicle completely charred.
"Four passengers who had managed to jump out of the bus are undergoing treatment in local hospital," he said.
