Baku-APA. Kyrgyzstan’s interim government said on Thursday it was in control of the state and army after supporters of ousted President Kurmanbek Bakiyev seized local government buildings in three southern regions, APA reports quoting The New York Times.
"The majority of the population are loyal to the provisional government," interim government chief of staff, Edil Baisalov, told Reuters. "The provisional government controls the state and the army."
"This (the unrest) could continue perhaps for another few weeks," he said.
