Baku – APA. The former Afghan presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah has said the West should threaten not to pay for his country’s future elections, APA reports quoting BBC.
His idea came in response to the news that President Karzai had taken control of the Afghan electoral complaints commission, giving him the power to appoint all five members.
The watchdog helped expose massive fraud in last year’s presidential poll, forcing Mr Karzai into a second vote.
Dr Abdullah told the BBC he was prepared to fight the decree, and that the international community should also put pressure on Mr Karzai.
