Iran appoints first woman minister

Tehran –APA. Iranian parliament approved Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi in the post of health minister. Vahid Destjerdi became first woman minister in the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran, APA reports. The president nominated women candidates to the post of ministers of education and social development too, but the parliament rejected their candidacy. Women were represented in Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s previous administration too, but they didn’t take minister’s post so far.
