Iraqi forces will provide security in the country

Baghdad – APA. US forces began to withdraw from major Iraqi cities on Tuesday and to hand over control to the local security forces, APA reports. Additional security measures were taken for prevention of terrorist activity in Baghdad and other cities. Recent motorbike terrorist attacks forced the local authorities to ban motorbike traffic in the cities for definite time. Baghdad civil defense official said Iraqi citizens are able to provide own security. Baghdad residents celebrated the withdrawal of US troops on Monday. Former building of the Iraqi Defense Ministry was handed over to the Iraqi government. Iraq has 175 000 troops and police forces. There are 131 000 US troops in Iraq and their withdrawal will be completed in 2011.
