Alexander explained he will set the hearings after the Senate votes on a repeal of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, APA reports quoting Reuters.

"[T]he Senate health committee has a responsibility during the next few weeks to hold hearings to continue exploring how to stabilize the individual market," the statement said.

On Monday four Republican Senators announced they would not support their party's legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare. The announcement prompted Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to pull the bill from any further consideration.

McConnell said the Senate will now just vote on a full repeal of Obamacare, but at least three Senators have announced they will not support any plan to repeal the existing law unless there is a replacement for it.
