Baku-APA. The U.S. House of Representatives has overwhelmingly passed a bill imposing harsher sanctions against North Korea following its fourth nuclear test, APA reports quoting ABC News.
The North Korea Sanctions Enforcement Act was passed by the U.S. House in a vote of 418-to-two, aimed at cutting money for the North that could be used to fund nuclear weapons programs.
The sanctions will target North Korea-related transactions, and third parties that may deal with the country. The bill also authorizes penalties against those abetting human rights abuses in North Korea or those posing cyber threats to U.S. national security.
