Baku-APA. At least six people were killed and 18 others wounded Wednesday afternoon when a bus fell off an overpass near Rio de Janeiro, local fire department said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Local news website G1 said the vehicle fell onto a church which firefighters said was empty at the time, and the injured were taken to the Itagui's Sao Francisco Xavier municipal hospital.
Photographs uploaded to social network webites by witnesses showed the bus falling off the overpass upside down.
The cause of the accident is still unknown.
An earlier accident on April 2 killed nine people and injured scores in Rio, when a quarrel over the fare between the driver and a passenger caused the former to lose control, pitching the bus off the overpass.
