The White House has announced the composition of the Peace Council established for the Gaza Strip, stated in a White House statement, APA reports.
According to the statement, an executive council composed of leaders with expertise in diplomacy, development, infrastructure, and economic strategy has been formed to implement the Peace Council concept, which will operate under the chairmanship of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Peace Council includes U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, American billionaire Mark Rowan, World Bank President World Bank chief Ajay Banga, as well as Deputy U.S. National Security Advisor Robert Gabriel.
Major General Casper Jeffers, Commander of the Special Operations Forces of United States Central Command, has been appointed head of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza Strip.
The statement notes that Major General Jeffers will lead security operations to ensure security, maintain peace, and create a sustainable environment free from terrorism. He will support comprehensive demilitarization and ensure the safe delivery of humanitarian aid and materials intended for reconstruction.
