The US and Ukraine are discussing the possibility of signing a minerals deal, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters, APA reports.
"Those talks are happening as we speak," she said to a question about when the deal could be signed, now that US President Donald Trump got Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s message that Kyiv is ready to conclude the accord. "I just saw the national security adviser. He's working very hard on it. I believe he was going into the Oval Office to give the president an update on where this stands."
"But again, the president is committed to a peace deal," the spokeswoman went on to say. "And I think that <…> Zelenskyy's message, which he also shared on X as well, is a positive sign in the right direction."
