US President Donald Trump stated that due to tariffs imposed by his administration, China has become one of the largest sources of revenue for the US budget, he said during a speech in Detroit, Michigan., APA reports.
"China is now one of our largest taxpayers. China, would you ever believe this?" he said.
"The evidence clearly shows that tariffs are not paid by American consumers, but by foreign governments and middlemen. [US Treasury Secretary] Scott [Bessent] has discussed this with us before: tariffs are paid by middlemen," Trump added.
