“The United States is participating in an operation against the Iranian regime, the world’s leading hostage-taker and sponsor of terrorism,” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated, APA reports.
Rubio noted that the aim of the operation is to weaken the missile capabilities of the Iranian regime and destroy its potential in this field: “The objectives of the mission against the Iranian regime are clear: to destroy Iran’s ability to launch missiles. To destroy the factories that produce these missiles. To destroy their fleet.”
Accusing Tehran of destabilizing the region, Rubio stated that Iran carries out attacks on the energy infrastructure of neighboring countries, civilians and embassies.
“They are trying to hold the world hostage. When it comes to hostage-taking, there has not been a worse criminal in the world than the clerical regime in Tehran. They are the worst criminals in the world of terrorism and hostage-taking,” Rubio stressed.
The US Secretary of State added that Washington is moving towards this goal.
Rubio said that once the mission is completed, the world will be safer.
